Shoney’s was founded by Alex Schoenbaum and Raymond L. Danner, Sr. in the year 1947. They opened the first restaurant in Charleston, West Virginia in 1947.
Firstly, the restaurant was named Parkette Drive-In. After two years, the name was changed to Shoney’s. In the year 1952, Alex Schoenbaum became the Big Boy franchise.
In the year 1956, a sub-franchisee was bought by Abe Becker from Schoenbaum in Rochester, New York. In the year 2014, they opened a restaurant in Sugarloaf Mills in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
By the year 2019, Shoney’s operates in almost 17 states. At present, David Davoudpour is the Chief Executive Officer of Shoney’s.
Shoney’s has several restaurants in 17 states of the United States which include South, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest states. The headquarters of the Shoney’s is located in Nashville, Tennessee.
