A Little History of Akashi
This incredible and beautiful restaurant was established by Larry Chi and his wife Barbara. It was originally founded in 1993, to serve the best sushi.
Earlier, when they started it was considered the youngest bar in the town, and hence, locals were even attracted to its average-priced offerings.
However, before starting Akashi, the owners were doing great with their small restaurant built near South Miami.
Soon, they realized they wanted to fill the niche of Japanese food among the locals. Thus, they placed their dream restaurant into reality and how Akashi was born.
As per the owners, the name Akashi has a special significance which carries the meaning of bright stone, and thus, Akashi revolves around being the gem among the sushi community.
